Most autonomous vehicle services are built around shared robotaxi fleets. Bliq is taking a different route: giving customers access to a dedicated driverless car that works more like a private chauffeur.
In an interview with IZON, Bliq CEO Julian Glaab explains how the company plans to offer private autonomous cars through long-term subscriptions, starting from €1,300 per month for the first premium customers.
Bliq upgrades existing electric vehicles with its own sensor and compute system rather than building a new car from scratch. The approach is designed to make driverless mobility available for households and businesses while keeping the vehicle familiar and practical for everyday use.
The company is already operating fully driverless vehicles on public roads in Estonia and Finland. Remote supervision supports the service while Bliq continues expanding the operating range and preparing for broader European availability.
One of the strongest signals from prospective customers is that they see the vehicle as more than transport. Many want to know whether it could also generate income when they are not using it, opening possibilities beyond a conventional private car.
Bliq is beginning with a premium subscription, but the longer-term ambition is broader access across more vehicle types and use cases as the technology scales and costs fall.
