Vetter, MoPla and Bliq Partner on Autonomous Shuttles
A new partnership is preparing autonomous shuttle services for everyday public transport in Anhalt-Bitterfeld, Germany.

Vetter Verkehrsbetriebe, MoPla Solutions and Bliq have signed a strategic partnership to prepare autonomous shuttle services for public transport in the district of Anhalt-Bitterfeld.
The pilot has been in preparation since May 2026. Its long-term goal is to integrate SAE Level 4 vehicles into regular services, with Bliq’s remote-supervision approach supporting early commercial operation while full Level 4 approval is being prepared.
Each partner contributes a different part of the service: Vetter brings public-transport operations and local infrastructure; MoPla provides the digital mobility platform, ticketing and fleet management; and Bliq supplies the autonomous-driving technology and vehicle integration.
Hochschule Anhalt will provide scientific support. Together, the partners plan an iterative programme of demonstrations, field trials and service development for rural mobility.
The first target is to make five autonomous vehicles bookable by passengers in 2027. The planned fleet includes Hyundai Ioniq 5 vehicles and the seven-seat Kia PV5, with further scaling intended after the pilot phase.
The cooperation follows project funding approval in July 2026 and coordination with the district and the state of Saxony-Anhalt. The partners see autonomous shuttles as a practical way to strengthen public transport and first- and last-mile connections in rural areas.

Building the service step by step
The project will move from controlled demonstrations into real operating environments. This approach gives the partners room to test the technology, refine passenger booking and fleet workflows, and build evidence for a dependable long-term service.
